Privacy policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

We built this service to work without accounts and to keep as little information as possible. This policy explains exactly what is processed, why, and for how long.

Summary

  • No registration: we never ask for your name, email or X password to download media.
  • The links you paste are used only to look up the post. They are not stored in our database.
  • Media files pass through temporary storage during transfer and are deleted immediately afterwards.
  • Your IP address is used briefly, in hashed form, to prevent abuse. It is not written to our application logs.
  • We keep anonymous, aggregated statistics such as downloads per day.

Information we process

Post links

When you submit a link, we extract the numeric post ID and request the post’s public media information from X. The resulting media information (not your identity) may be cached for a few minutes so repeated requests for the same post are fast.

Media files

When you choose a quality, the file is fetched from X’s media servers into temporary storage and streamed to you. The temporary copy is deleted as soon as the transfer ends, or automatically within 15 minutes if a transfer fails. We never keep a library of downloaded media.

IP address and rate limiting

To protect the service from abuse we count requests per visitor. We convert your IP address into a keyed, one-way hash and keep that hash in memory for a short time (at most the length of a temporary block, 15 minutes by default). Raw IP addresses are not stored in our database or application logs.

Technical logs

Our servers log technical events such as the request path, response status, processing time and a random request identifier, to keep the service running and to investigate errors. These logs do not contain IP addresses, the links you paste, or download tokens.

Aggregated statistics

We record anonymous events — for example that a video in HD was downloaded from the home page, how long it took and its size — to understand usage and capacity. These records contain no IP address, no post link and no identifier that could single you out.

Contact form

If you write to us, we store the name, email address, topic and message you provide so that we can reply. We keep these messages for as long as needed to handle your request and for no longer than 12 months.

Cookies and similar technologies

The downloader itself does not set cookies. The contact form uses one strictly necessary security cookie that protects against cross-site request forgery; it contains a random value and expires after two hours.

This site may display advertising provided by Google AdSense. When advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. Where the law requires it, you will be asked for consent before such cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time. You can learn more and manage ad personalisation at Google’s Ads Settings page.

If we enable website analytics, we use a privacy-focused configuration that does not identify individual visitors.

Third parties

  • X Corp. — we request public post and media information through X’s public embed service and media servers. These requests come from our servers, not from your device.
  • Google — when advertising is enabled, your browser loads ads from Google’s servers, subject to Google’s own privacy policy.
  • Hosting providers — our servers and database are operated by infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf.

We do not sell personal information.

Legal basis and your rights

Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, we process technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working service, contact messages to answer your request, and advertising cookies only with your consent where consent is required.

You can ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of personal information we hold about you — in practice, contact form messages — and you can object to processing or lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Use the contact page to reach us.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we process information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
